Peter Rabbit, Cosy Sunday’s & being a School Mum #LittleLoves

What a week, a good week but a long one for sure. Its been a while since I had one like this – all in the name of of a long weekend and the balance of attending a school project morning and working full-time. The struggle is real. On another note, we had such a lovely weekend, a blend of slow starts, adventure, movies and good food. Oh and wine. Sledging in the snow was so much fun, I’ve added a little post to the blog if you fancy a snoop. And then onto this week, well I am certainly in need of this weekend that’s for sure, it has been a week of early starts sat at my desk with coffee pre 7am in a bid to keep on track so that I can switch off for the weekend and of course help George with his pottery project in class on Wednesday morning. What a lovely way to involved the parents, his master piece was lovely – I adore his creativity.

And so here are this week’s little loves, don’t forget to grab a cuppa or in my case a little cocktail (inserts smiley face)…

Moving swiftly one, there really is nothing to see here. This weekend I shall be reading cocktail menus.

We went to see Peter Rabbit at the cinema on Saturday and it was wonderful. So many giggles from George and lovely to see the characters from the stories come to life. I grew up reading the stories as has George, we still love to read them together now. I found the battle of wills a little much between Peter and Mr McGregors nephew but ultimately thats because Mr McGregor took Peter’s dad from him years before. So I guess I’ll let it go, and it is only a movie after all. The boys escaped to the football on Saturday evening and after enjoying Peter Rabbit so much I downloaded Miss Potter on a friends recommendation. Oh my goodness what a truly beautiful film, I mentioned on my Instagram that I watched it twice in 24 hours, it was actually twice in 12 hours. I have completely fell in love with the movie and hope that Mr H adds it to my Christmas list! And lastly… after sledging on Sunday we treated George to Paddington 2 and all enjoyed snuggling up on the sofa to watch our favourite bear. Don’t you just love Paddington?

Jessie Ware has pretty much been on repeat this week. I am so excited to see and hear her in concert on Friday, as well as the cocktails! We’re actually going to The Apollo in Manchester which is where we first saw John Legend – my first gig 10 years ago and we ended up choosing one of his songs for our wedding song. We both love Jessie Ware so I am really looking forward to hearing her live, I am certain she is going to be amazing. Have you heard her music?

Our favourite Breakfast on Sunday. Mr H loves this combination of crusty white bread, avocado, red onion, tomato and crispy bacon – and let’s not forget a runny egg and a hot cuppa. Yummy.

A weekend of cosy feels. I don’t have much to share with you here other than cosy pjs, comfy socks, big chunky knits and so many cups of hot tea and coffee to help get me through the weekend. I lost count of how many times I boiled the kettle. I can’t believe how cold it went again. This weekend will be the first time I have fit my ankle into anything other than a trainer and whilst I’m really excited I think you can see from the photo below that my ankle is still a little swollen. I have my fingers and toes crossed that by Friday it has reduced some more, it is definitely getting better but sadly my outfit for Saturday night definitely requires a bit of a heel. As much as I love my trainers they don’t go with all the outfits I have planned for the weekend and certainly not a Saturday night party outfit. I’ve included a photo below of my choices for the weekend, we have a gig Friday night, drinks & shopping Saturday and then a night out on Saturday followed by a breakfast date on Sunday. So of course this all requires a lot of planning and an outfit for each occasion right?

And lastly…

I am beyond excited for this weekend. We have had this date weekend in the diary since before Christmas. My Friday was actually Thursday as I have managed to squeeze in a days annual leave so I can have a good old pamper and few hours of me time before we head off for the weekend. I’m hoping to get another set of snaps like this as I just love them so much. This was 2 years ago and I definitely think we need to update them although I’m sure I’ll look older and will instantly regret it. And lastly lastly, have a great weekend little loves crew.

I have added this post to Morgana’s #LittleLoves over on her blog Coffee, Work, Sleep, Repeat.

I love your photos K-A! I must repeat it again and again. There feel poetic to me! I watched Miss Potter a few weeks ago. I had seen it when it came out at the cinema and it was a pleasure to watch it again. It was brilliant! Both Paddington movies are excellent! I can’t wait to have kids to share my love for the bear with them 😉 Have a wonderful weekend, x

Those photos of you and Mr H are gorgeous! I’m so looking forward to seeing Peter Rabbit, not that my little one wants to come see it with me – he’s told me I can go see it on my own! Delightful child. Oddly enough I’ve only ever listened to Jessie Ware’s podcast, not her singing. Just googled her songs and she has a beautiful voice. Hope you’re having a good week x
