Perfectly pink, Altrincham Market & Feeling positive #LittleLoves

After a week of rest I am feeling more positive about my ankle and getting about a bit more. It may have something to do with having a new pair of trainers and a blazer to play with. I won’t lie having to rest up has been tough, tiring in fact – we all enjoy being active and so I am really looking forward to being back on my feet and fully able. I think we all are. Thankfully I seem to be walking just fine if not a little slowly, I’m still in a lot of pain with limited movement but thankfully I have wine to help me with that this weekend and two boys who have been wonderful. George has been the best Dr and has really enjoyed helping me. This boy truly makes my heart melt.

In last week’s post I mentioned that we visited Mackie Mayor’s in Manchester which was phenomenal – I am really looking forward to having food and drinks with Mr H next weekend when we go for his adult birthday celebrations. Just a great atmosphere and I can imagine just chilling out there with him for a little while, people watching and getting a little tipsy. Well last weekend Mr H took us to Altrincham Market on Sunday for Mother’s Day which was blooming lovely. Right up my street for sure. Mackie Mayor was made as a sister to Alty Market as its known by locals and on social media. Its such a great concept and honestly I don’t know why there isn’t one in every town. If you are local then check it out. Its different to Mackie Mayor, as it showcases small brands in the market, has different themes for the market each weekend and so much more. You can tell that its a community that has so much to offer. Perfectly unique.

And so, join me in this week’s little loves – I hope you have a glass of wine (that will be me later) or a hot cuppa…

Read…

I have been having a good old nosey through my Red Mag this week. I am really enjoying seeing all the fashion pages and styles for Spring. I agree with so much in this months magazine, a jumpsuit and good denim will always be my forever pieces. I completely agree with Vicky McClure on her assessment on a jumpsuit. And I love the micro trend of straw bags, and cannot wait to top up my collection. What make’s a forever piece for you? And what about those leather personalised bags, I just wish they were in my price bracket as I would definitely be making a purchase.

Watched…

Shooter. Another series on Netflix, we have quite literally binge-watched the whole of the first series this week and started the second on Thursday evening. It has Ryan Phillippe in and oh my goodness he is a dreamboat. The series is based on the film of the same name released in 2007 and has a huge tick from Mr H and I. George and I watched so many movies at the weekend with having our day at home together, so many that I can’t really remember which ones.

Heard…

Mr H was out with the boys last weekend and heard a DJ playing this song in one of our favourite bars – Tariff & Dale. If you are heading to the Northern Quarter then this bar is a must, the food and cocktails and general atmosphere are just the best. We love to Shazam music when we are out and add them to our playlists on Spotify. He played it to me on Sunday morning over breakfast and I have to say it’s a good one.

Made…

Mr H has been in the kitchen this week cooking up a storm. This lamb flat bread was so juicy and full of flavour – it is one of Joe Wicks recipe’s. And oh my goodness I never thought that a fish curry would be up my street but yes it was a taste sensation. This was a Jamie Oliver recipe. Both highly recommended by Mr H for ease of cooking and myself for the taste sensation.

Wore…

Everything pink. If ever there was a colour to make me smile it is pink, its the colour of the season and one I just think that is so diverse – so many different shades and if it’s pastel or rose then I find it goes with everything. I don’t have as much to share with you here due to being off my feet whilst my ankle mends however what I do have are these gorgeous sparkly pink converse which my boys treated me to for Mother’s Day. We don’t usually do gifts so these were a huge surprise and made me smile so much on Sunday morning. George remembered that we had seen them in Schuh whilst trainer shopping for him and apparently asked Daddy if he could get them for me to make me smile. He is just the sweetest boy, I think we are raising him right for sure. And lastly, my pastel pink blazer which I picked up in the week. I have been looking at it online for a while and finally took myself over to River Island to try it on, I couldn’t resist it. I paired it with this jumpsuit I had last year from LOTD and love how the two colours go together. I’m really looking forward to styling the blazer when we go to Manchester for the weekend. I have updated my Style Loves page with all my favourite Blazers from the high street if you fancy a look.

And lastly…

We are off to watch Peter Rabbit at the weekend before the boys disappear to the football. George is so excited, we love the collection of stories and for months he slept with Peter Rabbit so for him to watch it on the big screen is just so lovely. Our local VUE cinema has recliner chairs so I can watch the movie whilst resting my foot and drinking a good coffee! Perfect. The boys are escaping for a few hours so I am going to continue to rest my foot and catch up on all the blog posts I have in drafts and maybe even some photography time permitting. I hope you all have a super weekend little loves crew.

I love Red magazine and Keeley Hawes is a bit of a favourite of mine too. I love the dress she’s wearing on the cover. I so wish my partner could cook, he hasn’t made anything for me in the kitchen bar toast or a sandwich ever I don’t think. Mr H’s meals this week look amazing. I may have to have a go at the lamb flatbread (not sure I’m brave enough for the fish curry). Enjoy Peter Rabbit. My little monster has informed me he doesn’t want to watch it, but I can go on my own if I want – yeah thanks! Have a great week x

Such a great magazine I am still working my way through it. He is a mean cook, he just loves to be in the kitchen with his music playing. It was such a great movie and a little more grown up than I thought x

Wine In Hand and red magazine bought today so I was perfectly ready for reading this post! Love the pink blazer-I have always loved a blazer but have started to see them as too dressy which scares me a little as would love to bring them out again! Love how you team them with trainers. We are desperate to see peter rabbit. P loves the series but is a little young for the cinema so have promised B an easter holiday trip and I think it’ll def be one we buy on DVD. Hope you have a lovely weekend x

Aww I am so happy to hear you had wine! Ooh no I don’t think they have to be dressy sweetie, its how you wear them I think. Perhaps wear with a tshirt or thin knit and trainers or flat boots x

You’ve converted me to a Red Magazine reader. I always thought it was for middle aged women (!!), so either I’m wrong or just getting old! ha
I do love that pink blazer on you, it’s perfect!
Alty Market looks fab and somewhere I’ve not been to before. It’s my turn to plan what we do this weekend so I think we’re going to head over an have an explore there.
    Have a lovely week xx

Glad to hear things are a little better with your ankle KA, and hope you heal up quickly. I’ve seen so many people mention Red magazine lately, I must try it one of these days. That pink blazer really suits you. Let’s hope the Spring weather arrives to match! xx
