Dreaming of sunshine…

Get ready for your holiday this year with our little family style guide. Although not a new face to the blog, my gorgeous boy would like to add his thoughts to what a six year old needs for the beach! Whether it’s clothes, accessories or a lollipop shaped lilo he has all of the tips for you in his first vlog. As well as a little video we thought we’d share some of our favourite outfit picks to take you from the beach, bars, restaurants, stomping around the streets exploring and beyond in a few words and pictures here in a blog post.

If you’ve got a beach holiday planned this year then look no further, you can find our top tips for packing for a family holiday here as well as my love for Hammamas towels (inserts smiley face). They’re just so colourful and lightweight! We all know how hard it is to pack sensibly when there are three of you. I need three outfits a day, ssshhh don’t tell Mr H. We are a family of planners in our little family and love to research our holiday – whether its which beaches to explore, where to find the best ice cream, exploring local scenery, activities or historic facts. Imagine planning a holiday with Monica from friends and you have Mr H only a male version who loves to explore. I love fashion and styling so I guess I’d be Rachel and our gorgeous boy is fearless and says the silliest of things so maybe he’s Joey! He’s definitely a cool dude. And that’s us.

We are a trio of sun seekers or as George calls us the Three Musketeers – adventure and fashion is at the heart of everything that we do as a family and I cannot wait for 2018’s adventures and shopping trips to start. In fact I may have already started at the weekend but once again don’t tell Mr H. I’m sure he’ll tell me I don’t need those three summer dresses, seriously who can resist spots this year?

Since first introducing our gorgeous boy to Spain in 2014 our little family has definitely found the travel bug and hope to travel more this year even if that’s by adding a few shorter breaks to our calendar. At the beginning of each year we make a list of all the adventures we want to go on and finding some sunshine and new beaches to explore was first on our list. Mr H and I have always travelled however after George arrived we lost our desire to travel, choosing not to venture too far as we were nervous of travelling with a little one – a decision I now regret.

And so, since taking our first summer holiday 2 years ago we are forever planning which country we should visit next. I did say we were a family of planners. But where next? Turkey, Greece, Italy – all renowned for their culture, food, ice cream and gorgeous towns to explore and see. That’s my photography box ticked, Mr H’s exploring box ticked and George’s ice cream dreams ticked. The boys are thrill seekers and as George will be seven before the summer they have added water sports to the list and something tells me that we have an exciting travelling journey ahead.

Even before our little family existed I have always adored taking photos. What’s not to love? They say a picture tells a thousand words or in my case 2974 which was the number of photo’s I took on our last holiday.  They tell a story and I am all for sharing our little family stories with you. I often lose myself in my camera roll – a gallery of pure happiness, of memories made and magical moments that I want to treasure forever. For as long as my boys allow me to I will forever hold my camera up to my face and press click, capture our family moments one click at a time and more recently in short films.

As I mentioned we love to explore new parts of the world whether in the UK or further afield. We love to go on an adventure, find hidden gems, little villages, take ourselves off the beaten track, eat new cuisine (squid & chocolate cake are George’s favourites) and generally soak up the atmosphere of the places we visit. Sharing our experiences is really important to me and part of the reason why I set up this corner of the world wide web almost four years ago. Giving a true account of our travels really is such an important part of the process. If there is one I thing I love about this little online space I have created is that it is a platform where I can share our thoughts, a place to hold our memories but also one where we can inform and advise. Somewhere we can look back on in years to come. Hopefully our tips and recommendations help to inspire and encourage new adventures and family travel moments.

If you follow me over on Instagram you’ll know that I love to share short stories of our family life, whether a day out, a holiday or even just an ordinary moment. My Instagram is an extension of my blog so if reading blogs isn’t your thing then don’t forget to follow our little family adventures over there. And if truth be told Instagram is my favourite platform so you’ll always find me sharing little squares and tales on stories.

And so, let me share a short video of our holiday style and a few a whole bunch of photo’s with you from some of our favourite family travel moments and outfits of 2017…

Family. That word means so much to me but at the top of the list is making memories and that’s why I want to explore the world with my boys. Thank you so much for reading, for staying with me until the end of the many photo’s I have shared with you. You know how I love to take a photo or 2974. I really hope that this blog post has made you smile as much as I have writing it. Looking back through my camera roll really is my happy place. What travel plans do you have planned?
