A family walk, Forest Fruits Ice Cream & a Blazer #LittleLoves

Tea, cake, blooms and my boy. That pretty much covers my weekend – and lets not forget the bright blue skies and sunshine on our walk around Dovedale. Oh, take me back to the weekend, these last few days have been so far away from then, so cold and unlike any weather we have had before. Even my snow loving six year old refused to go out in it. I think the weather is all everyone has spoken about since Monday and I am for one am willing Spring to arrive.

Rather than dwelling on this cold snap, I’m going to look back at our weekend and dream of Spring like days, blue skies and sunshine on our faces. The boys decided on Saturday morning that we would pack a picnic and head over to Dovedale and I am so glad that I did. It was cold, but we had so much fun especially when we walked through a muddy field and I got my foot stuck, when I say stuck I mean quite literally stuck in a vacuum. It was disgusting but funny or at least George thought so. Thankfully the water as we crossed the stepping stones helped to wash away some of the mud and the ice cream helped to wash away the memory!

And so, grab yourself a cuppa and join me in this week’s little loves…

Just look at him, head stuck in a book throughout the whole time he had his hair cut. He chose this book at the book sale as part of World Book Day. He chose a book about The Guardians of the Galaxy, which is his current favourite of the Marvel movies so I guess it made sense that this was the book he chose.

We are watching Save Me at the moment on Sky Demand. Another series about a child which has had me gripped, struggling to watch each episode and most definitely shocked and tearful. We still have a few left but each episode gets a little harder to watch and I’m not quite sure I’ll make it to the end. Have you seen it?

I can’t remember if I have shared this song with you before – Gregory Porter, Liquid Spirit. A huge favourite in the Hargreaves household and most definitely played on our kitchen disco of a weekend.

A dash for the ice cream shop at the end of our walk around Dovedale on Saturday. Oh my goodness it tasted so good and yes it was freezing but after walking for 3 hours and getting stuck in the mud this was high on the list of priorities.

All the heart eyes for my blazer. I have fallen back in love with the blazer – if truth be told I never really fell out of love with it but when I needed a layer to wear with my maxi dress on Sunday I just love how they look together. My new favourite outfit and can you believe that my gorgeous boy took this photo, he’s turning into quite the photographer! An outfit I want to wear on repeat.

And lastly…

We have a weekend of birthday celebrations here as it is Mr H’s birthday tomorrow. The poor thing is having to share his day with two of George’s friends who have parties on Saturday! Hopefully we can manage to have fun regardless and make his weekend one to remember. Hopefully with lots of treats, cake and alcohol for the grown ups! Have a great weekend little loves crew.

I have added this post to Morgana’s #LittleLoves over on her website Coffee, Work, Sleep, Repeat.

I love Dovedale! My mum’s family are in Derbyshire so I have lots of memories of going for walks there as a kid. You really made the most of the gorgeous weather before the storm hit. I was really annoyed that we stayed at home, but the girls were so tired.
I’ve placed an H&M order this week and channeled my inner KA with my choices! I’ve even got a floral dress in there! 😉 xx

Blue skies and ice cream, how I need some of that right now! Love the pic George took of you, it’s brilliant! Ha ha my partner gets dragged to soft play every year for his birthday by my little one, he thinks it’s the perfect place to celebrate his daddy’s birthday. Not sure if he’ll let him choose which soft play he gets taken to this year though seeing as it’ll be his 40th! Have a great weekend x
