Snapshots & Scenes – January 2018

And so the first month of 2018 has come to an end. As I write the words to this post and scroll through my camera roll looking back at the month of January for our little family I am a little taken aback by how big this little man of ours is looking lately. He’s had another growth spurt, he’s changing in so many ways, becoming more adventurous, making firm decisions, his personality seems to be coming out even more than before and quite simply he looks so much older. Oh my goodness George Archie, please slow down – this mummy isn’t quite ready for you to turn seven and to begin Junior School. And whilst those days are still a few months away, I can already feel the emotion coming over me *moves quickly on*.

And for this reason I will continue to capture our little family, whether that be in a short film of our monthly adventures or in a collection of photos. As you’ll see from this months film we have enjoyed getting out as much as possible in January, enjoying walking around The Peak District and of course our firm favourite Trentham Gardens. We have had the usual routine of swimming, drumming and our first parent & child boxing class. We have enjoyed many lazy mornings, movie afternoons both at the cinema to watch Coco and The Greatest Showman as well as with popcorn at home. All in all January has been a blooming lovely month, I only hope February is only as cosy albeit with more sunshine, blue skies and lets not forget snowdrops.

And so here is this month’s #SnapshotsandScenes from January…

And just in case you were wondering, Snapshots & Scenes is a monthly project that I am taking part in – along with a group of lovely bloggers. We set up this little project back in the summer of 2017 to test our creative skills and to focus on telling a story through a short film centred around family life. Whether it is a day in the life, a holiday, a special moment, a day out or even just home life – interpret it as you like. And don’t forget to share your clips or favourite photos from the month over on Instagram using the tag #SnapshotsandScenes.

We would love to see what you are sharing this month, and do make sure you pop by my co hosts – JennySara-Jayne, Mel & Chloe – and don’t forget to link up your own Snapshots & Scenes below with a little link back to where you found it.

You’re right: he HAS really grown! You know what? I’ve noticed that with my Year 2 girlie as well. Their limbs are more elongated, their faces less round, their personalities more defined… We have to enjoy every minute, because these little ones are not so little anymore. Love the fact G. wears his sunglasses pretty much anywhere. He is such a cool little dude already! Your video, as always, is beautiful. xxx
