Coffee shops, A snow day & Back to training #LittleLoves

Happy feet. Happy days. Happy weekend. I was so so sad when Sunday evening rolled around, some weekends just shouldn’t end. I am really enjoying being wrapped up in our little family bubble, doing all the little things that make us smile and not worrying about where each weekend is taking us. Acting on impulse, spontaneous days out and lunch dates with my boys are only something small but honestly, they make me smile so much and I am thankful for these quiet weekends.

I feel so much better for getting back into my routine of training 3 or 4 times a week, as much as my body isn’t thanking me for it just yet I really have missed the last 4 months. There’s something about training that really does have an impact on your mental health, I need to remember that when I am struggling to go one day!

And so, grab a cuppa and maybe a treat (it is Friday) and join me in this week’s little loves…

Read…

My new Red Magazine made its way through the letterbox yesterday, and so that is my reading this weekend. I haven’t managed to finish the whole of last months copy so I really do need to catch up. I’m thinking a lazy start on Saturday should solve that!

Watched…

Silent Witness, Jamie & Jimmy’s Friday Night Feast and oh my goodness McMafia. Such good television this week. I loved the guests on this weeks Friday Night Feast – celebrity couple Chris O’Dowd and Dawn O’Porter were just the cutest, such a gorgeous chemistry between them. And let’s not forget McMafia, wow it really does seem to be getting a tad on the violent side at the minute which always makes me want to switch off – I am going to brave and continue to watch.

Heard…

I have a few recommendations to share with you this week. It has been a good music week as well, I always find new songs when we are out in the car on a weekend – Mr H really does have a great Spotify playlist. I am really enjoying listening to another track from Joey Negro’s Produced With Love – Into The Blue with Alex Mills, and then there’s Sexual by the group Neiked and lastly a little bit of the Jersey Boys, I’m off to watch them as part of a blog review with the girls and I cannot wait, such great music – December 1963. And lastly lastly we have Fleetwood Mac on repeat in our morning room, I bought Mr H a retro turntable for Christmas and cannot wait until we get chance to pick up some more albums. We found a little shop over the weekend that has a whole collection of LP’s, hopefully we’ll get chance to head back over there soon.

Made…

A spontaneous trip out on Saturday morning to Leek, a gorgeous market town just 20 minutes from home. We really don’t head out that way as often as we should. I love wandering through Getliffe’s Yard, I’m only sad one of my favourite clothes shops has now moved from there. On another note we did stumble across the most instagrammable cafe – Cafe Boutique I have ever seen which made me insanely happy. And on the way home it snowed! Just look…

Wore…

My love affair with trainers continues. I can’t express in words how comfy they are, if only I could get away with wearing them with every outfit I would. Trainers on repeat. Although you guys might become a little bored with this section! I’m also a little in love with my leopard print pyjamas which my mother-in-law gave me as part of my Christmas gifts, they are also amongst the comfiest things I own and will be worn on repeat this weekend. I do wash them, honest.

And lastly…

We have another weekend ahead with no plans in the diary which makes me so happy. Another spontaneous weekend coming right up.  I’m really going to enjoy these days taking life at a slower pace – they don’t happen often and I really do think it is good to take time to slow down and enjoy a bit of self-care. Already our social calendar is filling up from March with little weekends away as a family and a friends 40th birthday, we’re trying our hardest this year to enjoy short breaks away exploring more of this beautiful country which means I want to enjoy these quiet weeks in between for as long as possible. How are you spending your weekend Little Loves crew?

And lastly lastly, the boy and me are off to a parent & child boxing class at Ultimate where I train on Saturday. Oh my goodness I’m so excited. I noticed that there was a class involving little ones, mentioned it in a passing comment and he hasn’t stopped asking ever since and so we’re booked on. He is so excited!

I have added this post to Morgana’s #LittleLoves over on her blog Coffee, Work, Sleep, Repeat.

I haven’t been to Leek for years! I’ve only ever been once before and it was really foggy – so much so that you could barely see your hand in front of your face so it’s no surprise that I missed this lovely looking little shopping alley. I’ll have to make a trip up there I think.

That coffee shop is so so pretty. I try and spend my days off finding new little gems likes this.

I am totally high fiving you with trainers, back in 2016 I had to wear corrective shoes for a bit and since then I can only wear flats so I have a large love of trainers. I am glad they work so well with all types of outfits now as you show xxx

You can’t beat going off in search of a cafe or coffee shop. I’m really enjoying trainers and being able to wear them with almost everything in my wardrobe x

I’m with you on wearing trainers more. I’m so sick of wearing boots now!
It’s so good to get back on track with exercise. Now that the busy-ness of January is nearly over I’ve started re-introducing exercise into my routine and I’m loving it already. It’s tough going but the benefits definitely out way the discomfort.
    Hope you’re having a lovely week x

Yes I think I am done with tights now too. I just feel like I want to paint my toes and snap open the sandals. x

I’m with you on the trainers thing, I fell in love with them last year when I finally found a style that fit my wide feet! I think I shall be purchasing more in the spring which of course, is just around the corner! Red magazine is my favourite, I usually treat myself to one when going on holiday which is only next week eek! Always love your photographs, looking gorgeous as ever! xx
