My Family Adventures – December

Oh December, you were beautiful and everything we hoped it would be. Not only because the trip we had been planning for most of the year finally arrived but also because it snowed, weekends were filled with hot chocolate dates, movie afternoons and excitement for the Christmas break. The skies were blue, the sun shone on those days when the ground glistened with the powdery white stuff – making our gorgeous boy dance with excitement. Already we have started to see the days staying brighter for longer which fills me with so much hope. I don’t plan to wish winter away but it is nice to see the days not disappearing as quickly don’t you think?

What can I tell you about our adventures in December? Well, for Mr H and I the month was building up to our trip to Disneyland Paris but of course it wasn’t all about that trip (really it was) and with George not knowing about it business was as usual for him. We decorated our Christmas trees, our Elf buddy returned creating mischief and leaving notes for us to enjoy together along the way and lets not forget visiting the big man himself – the best visit yet. We took an Elf-tastic adventure at Trentham Gardens, we played in the snow for three whole days and created a new family tradition that I know will be repeated each year. George wrote a letter to Santa, filled it with special wishes and made our way to the post box.

And as our trip to Disney arrived so did our day out in London, we made the journey down south on the train and took in all the sights using our Merlin Passes – a great way to spend the day in London. We rode the London Eye, took a Shrek-tacular adventure which George loved and lastly visited the Sealife Centre. The boy has become obsessed with Sharks lately and desperately wanted to see them, he has even chosen a book all about them and has been enjoying reading it since our trip.

And lastly, I couldn’t write this post without mentioning our magical trip to Disneyland Paris. This was our second time visiting at Christmas time and after last years adventure we were so much more prepared for the cold weather. With it being the 25th anniversary there was so much more to see and do which I’ll share in a separate post. I am so glad that we kept this trip as a surprise from him as his response was typically Georgeous.

And lastly, lastly Christmas day. The morning was truly magical, the excitement from our boy was something I could only dream of and I am so glad that he is truly thankful for everything that he receives. The video I have from him that morning is so so special and one which I will treasure. The morning of Christmas day is the only part I wish to remember as sadly we experienced a fire in the kitchen whilst dinner was cooking which I can only describe as being incredibly scary. Enough of that as quite frankly I am still incredibly upset by it.

And so here are a few a lot of photo’s from our month…

The end of 2017 is here and for that reason I will continue to capture his childhood as I am very aware that one day these days will be gone and I will be left with a teenager who won’t want to skip down Main Street with me, throw snowballs or be mesmerised by the magic of Christmas Day.

Are you ready to read all about everyone else’s adventures in December? Grab a cuppa and enjoy a little snoop around, don’t forget to stop by Laura’s blog, with having two hosts now you’ll receive double the love. Your months are always filled with so many lovely things! George’s face at Disney – he looks so happy! You’re such an ace Mum creating all of these experiences for him – he will have so many happy, loving memories as he grows up.

Sounds like a brilliant month. I hope to go to Disney in a couple of years. So sorry about your fire. I witnessed my neighbours kitchen fire this week. Thankfully no one was in but their house looks a real mess.
