Pink nails, BlogOn & Holding on #LittleLoves

For the first time since joining in with this weekly round up post I questioned whether I should look back over my week. Last night when I started to put this post together it just felt so strange to be looking for the little things I have loved in a week filled with so much sadness. But it is times like this when a little reflection, and looking for the little things that have made me smile is what keeps us positive and thankful for the good people around us. There has been so much good, so many kind actions and a huge sense of community to have come out of so much devastation.

And so, in the name of positivity here are this week’s little loves…

Apart from the devastating news stories which have been filling our timelines and a few little loves posts I haven’t really read so much this week. I did read the BlogOn session guide a few times trying to choose which to attend on Sunday. I was torn over a couple but in the end I found myself gravitating to all the photo sessions and I am so glad that I did. I spent the day with the gorgeous Jo and Jenny and met Eilidh from Mummy and Monkeys for the first time too. It has been a couple of years since I last attended this conference and I am so glad that I went back again, the venue is really interesting and it was so nice to meet up with so many lovely bloggers that I chat to online each week.

I was invited along to the press night at our local Theatre, The Regent to catch the first show of Grease Is The Word with Tom Parker in. I’d love to say that I really enjoyed the show but sadly I came away feeling a little flat, don’t get me wrong it wasn’t a bad performance, but they had changed so many of the iconic moments in the movie and as someone who grew up with Grease, The T-Birds and their Pink Ladies – I couldn’t help but question why? On the other hand the cupcakes and wine were fantastic.

This week I have been listening to the Big Little Lies soundtrack. I’ve found myself missing this series from our planner and so the next best thing is the music. I also heard the lovely Hayley from Shutterflies talking about photographing people at BlogOn on Sunday. I have followed Hayley’s blog pretty much since the beginning of my own blogging journey, I adore her photography and love that I have managed to meet her in person a couple of times too. She’s blooming lovely.

The other session I went to and loved was Mel’s Photo Styling – she has actually popped a post up on her blog Le Coin De Mel with all the tips so I thought I would share that with you. I love how she styles her photos and oh my goodness her prop box is just something out of this world, I was like a child in a candy shop when we were given the chance to style some photos.

A little healthy breakfast, the summer holidays are approaching and so my thoughts are turning to what I will look like with less clothes on. Always a worry at this time of year, there are a few things that I don’t like, and a few things that I need to work on. I’m not sure I will ever be beach ready so I am putting myself through a fat loss programme again from now until the end of July just like I did before Chriistmas. I’m currently psyching myself up for the 5th June when it begins.

I love this little satchel I found in Monsoon, its tiny like a little handheld bag – perfect for when something dainty is just what you need. I also dug out my floral Dr Martens, I realised that I have hardly worn them since Mr H treated me to them one Christmas. And lets not forget my pink skirt, if truth be told its all want to wear especially since pairing it with a Breton and converse for BlogOn.

And lastly…

After the events of this week I am so thankful for a long weekend with my boys. Wrapped up in our little family bubble is the only place I want to be right now. Have a great weekend Little Loves crew and if you are enjoying a little adventure with your family then don’t forget to tag me on Instagram with #MyFamilyAdventures. This month’s round up also goes live on Sunday at 8am, I would love to see you join in over on the blog – whether one day out, your adventures from the month or even a holiday. Its  a lovely community of bloggers all sharing their little or big family adventures.

I have added this post to Morgana’s #LittleLoves over on her blog Coffee, Work, Sleep, Repeat.

Blog On was so so good, wasn’t it? I’m glad you enjoyed my session and my randomly gather props (home things!). It’s such a shame Grease was a disappointing one. I wouldn’t like too much deviation from the film either.

I couldn’t imagine watching something Grease related with a number of changes… It would just feel so wrong!! I hope you have a lovely upcoming weekend with your family. #LittleLoves

Oh and you although very briefly at the start and I can’t remember seeing you again

  7. 29th May 2017 / 8:43 am

Sounds like Blogon was a hit, something I’d love to do one year! Love your fashion though when I tried the pleated skirt look it really didn’t do me my favours-think the diet might need to start for me soon! It was a hard week to look for the positives for sure but sometimes those weeks are the ones where it’s most important x

BlogOn was great although next year if I go will only be to socialise, some of it is a little crazy for me. I think you have to step out of your comfort zone sometimes but then realise what suits you. I’m not sure they are overly flattering on me but I love them all the same x

  8. 30th May 2017 / 1:42 pm

It was lovely to catch up with you at Blog On, and I think the socialising is always top of my list. It has certainly been a really tough week hasn’t it. I will pop over and link up this afternoon (not forgot just a little busy) x

Oh I’m so annoyed that I couldn’t come to Blog On! It looks like you had loads of fun and learnt a lot of helpful tips too. Loving your outfit choices and styling – as ever! xx
