A new dress, Big little lies & Coldplay #LittleLoves

Is it really Little Loves day? I can’t quite believe it is Friday, without trying to sound like a broken cliché this week has whizzed by in a flash. It has been so lovely to wake to blue skies and the sun shining, certainly does feel Spring like now doesn’t it? I just love the feeling of Spring, the change in the season, the colours that come to life and just how much brighter it makes me feel, certainly makes the early starts that much ore bearable doesn’t it?

And so here are this week’s little loves…

I stumbled across a post over the weekend on The New York Times – Why I Decided To Stop Writing About My Children – given the fact that I write about our little family, specifically our boy I couldn’t help but take a little read. Such a thought provoking read. I wonder if I will step away or change the direction of my writing at some point.

Big little lies. I am gripped and so far we have only watched one episode, I’m not sure it is one Mr H will continue to watch with me. Have you seen it? Based on a book, it is a series about the Mothers of Monterey. Think Desperate Housewives/Midsummer Murders – a tale of murder and rumours, Nicole Kidman is stunning and it is all set in the most gorgeous beach houses.

I have listened to The Chainsmokers & Coldplay’s latest song on a loop this week – Something just like this. I always love the words in Chris Martins songs, so true to the heart, beautiful words that make me fall in love with his music all over again. Coldplay are definitely Mr H’s and I’s favourite group, one we discovered together.

The start on Lil G’s birthday plans, he isn’t six until June but as his friends are all having parties at the minute he has asked if we can plan his too. I won’t lie, I secretly love planning a party so when he mentioned it I may have shrieked with excitement. This year he has chosen a tubing birthday party and Mr H and I are planning a little surprise weekend trip for him as well.

We also enjoyed a little mummy and son date on Saturday whilst Mr H was at the football, I would love to say that I made this milkshake and waffle but that would be lying – I guess I could say that on our instruction they were made…

Little loves crew, I have a confession – I think I have a problem. I may have purchased another midi dress. It is safe to say that I have a little collection of my own, a wardrobe filled with midi dresses, pleated skirts and coats. Send help. Mr H is going to combust or cut up my card.

And lastly…

We have a weekend of family time ahead, with no plans other than heading out to drumming and to the library. No birthday parties and no football for Mr H. I’m quite looking forward to seeing where the weekend takes us. How does your weekend look? Have a lovely weekend little loves crew.

I have added this post to Morgana’s #LittleLoves over on her blog Coffee, Work, Sleep, Repeat.

I love your addiction to gorgeous dresses KA, and for once I actually featured a dress in my Little Loves this week. I usually pass the ‘wore’ section over to my 11 year old. I will pop over and have a read of the article about stopping writing about your children. I barely mention my teenage son now on the blog, and I often wonder if my 11 year old will not want featuring as much one day. Sounds as if you have a nice weekend planned. I have my inlaws up from South Wales, and we have a few nice things planned with them x

I’m loving Big Little Lies, I watched episode 4 this week and it’s such a good series with a brilliant cast. Love your new dress, it looks gorgeous with your red jacker. That shake and waffle look amazing, I’ve just had a ‘treat’ of natural yogurt and honey so now I’ve seen that I’m seriously craving something naughtier. Have a lovely chilled weekend with your boys x

It does crack me up seeing all your new buys-your stash of coats and dresses make me hugely jealous but my hubby would kill me! I desperately need a wardrobe overhaul. Those treats just look way too scrummy! I’m salivating! Ive seen Big Little Lies advertised and it looks pretty damn good though i must admit i do love to read a book first so i’ve put off watching it-maybe i should forget that rule for once in case i never get round to it. Grandparents are having the boys tomorrow (bringing P home later but keeping LB for a sleepover) so me and the hubby can have a bit of downtime-can’t wait! Have a lovely weekend! x
