Conkers, A drumming lesson & Something new #LittleLoves

kerri-ann hargreaves, life as our little family

Well hello there. Is it really the end of another week? I know that sounds like quite a cliché thing to say but honestly it still feels like Sunday was yesterday. I guess that’s the everlasting feeling of a weekend well spent. We had such a lovely weekend together, lots of quality family time, we shopped, we enjoyed a little walk out collecting conkers, we baked and we had a scrummy afternoon tea catching up with friends. We also managed to squeeze in a few new things to our weekend routine which have left us all feeling so excited. It was a cosy weekend with my boys which always leaves my mummy heart filled with so much love.

And so here are this week’s little loves…

We have started to read up on all the adventures which await us when we visit Disneyland Paris at Christmas time. I won’t lie I am beyond excited, even if it is to see all the beautiful decorations on Main Street and let’s not forget the big man himself. I am such a big kid, as is Mr H. Lil G is acting too cool for school and is only looking forward to seeing The Goof and Mickey in their Christmas suits. Apparently Santa may not be available as he will have lots of toys to make. Well Lil G you might just be on to something there.

We have been glued to Our Girl on BBC with Michelle Keegan. And lets not forget her co-stars Captain James and Elvis. Swoon. Have you seen it? If you haven’t oh you should catch up. I think it’s the last episode next week. She’s a blooming great actress in this and boy are those boys handsome.

We had friends over for Sunday lunch and in true Mr H style he took charge of the main meal and I baked cookies with Lil G. Mr H went for a beef & ale stew with mustard dumplings which was so delicious and the perfect end to a rather autumnal weekend. Lil G and I opted for peanut butter cookies and chocolate chip & nutella cookies. Ooh and if you fancy, the recipes for the cookies are up on my blog, just hit the photos.

We have had quite a musical weekend actually including a kitchen disco and rocking out in the car. I have quite a bit to share with you here for a change including my gorgeous boy learning to play the drums! How blooming exciting is that. I just love his enthusiasm and desire to learn something new. He has loved listening to music from a very early stage and I really do hope he continues with his weekly lesson.

I quite enjoyed popping my AW boots on last weekend. I love both of these so much as neither feel chunky so perfect for that transition from summer to autumn. The leopard print were from Gap last year (who do great shoes by the way) and the black boots are from Zara. Lil G has been modelling his new apron from Great Little Trading Co when we did a spot of baking at the weekend. This has to be one of my favourite prints from the GLTC range.

And lastly…

I thought I’d share my something new with you here. I do hope you will consider joining in. I’m a huge fan of Instagram and have been thinking for a while now as to how I could grow my following but also how I could engage and inspire my followers. Well, the conclusion I came to at the weekend after week’s of consideration was to start an Instagram Community of all our family adventures. I love to share our days out and many other adventures we have and so the hashtag I have created is #MyFamilyAdventures. I would love you to join in. If you are a little unsure then do pop over to my post.

Have a lovely weekend little loves crew.

KA x

That beef stew looks amazing, as do the cookies. We never make them at home and I’m not sure why. I love your new Instagram Community and will be looking to get involved this weekend. The GLTC star print is beautiful.
I’ve never thought to look at Gap for shoes, I should make more of an effort. Great Little Loves this week. xx

How exciting he’s learning the drums. I tried to get N to try some music lessons but he wasn’t keen, so we’ll see again next year if he fancies it. He’s a bit of a piano fan though.
