Wardrobe Edit {Mummy & Son day}…

Some days you just need to throw on a pink blazer, a leopard print scarf and pin your hair up in a top knot. The sun had popped his hat on, there were no coats in sight and so off we went on a little mummy and son date during the Easter holidays. Nothing too fancy just me, my pink blazer and my handsome boy. I think I have found my favourite look of 2018, last year it was most definitely a pleated skirt – this year I am all about the blazer, they’re the perfect cover up and ideal for layering. I have my eye on this Sage Double breasted number for my next shopping trip. Sssshhh don’t tell Mr H.

In all seriousness though the high street is awash with so many great choices, I love all the colours and styles of blazers out there right now. I could shop every day. There is a blazer out there for every body shape and most definitely every possible colour a girl could dream of. My favourite style right now are those just like this pink dream, a double breasted relaxed fit but beautifully tailored and lined. I always find that I feel a little more put together in a Blazer albeit often I wear them with trainers I just love how they lend themselves to so many trends. From a maxi dress to a pair of jeans and a denim skirt I have found they are my go to cover up this year. I also love how well they look layered under a mac or trench coat or even quite simply with a scarf.

And so back to my mummy and son day. I do love our time together, we’re so alike – heading straight to our wardrobe to pick out what we’d like to wear. Our day revolving around something sweet. I love that George is already enjoying picking out his clothes, playing around with different styles – he’s a mini fashionista in the making. I love that about him, both Mr H and I love fashion, reading about fashion and generally just crafting our own styles.

And so our mummy and son day went a little like this, a little bit of everything that we both love. We were running a few errands for Daddy, hitting the park to master the monkey bars but not before enjoying a little hot chocolate date in our favourite café The Cakery. Always a favourite pastime of mine with my little boy – chatting about all the little things over a hot drink and a creme egg brownie. Did you know that Lions run at a speed of up to 81kmph. I do now. I have a little boy obsessed with facts – with big cats, dinosaurs and sharks. If you are local guys then this little spot is a must visit. The decor, the food, the coffee is perfect and the atmosphere is swish. Ps the brownies are so good, people queue up for the gooey loveliness and I love the two ladies who run it – I could see myself pulling up a chair and chatting to them whilst they whipped up a batch of brownies.

And a few photos from our day…

How ace that George is picking up on your love of fashion and starting to join in too – that’s so sweet. The Cakery looks like a gorgeous little spot for a treat – the hot chocolate (my weakness) looks yummy!
