Date Weekend, Outfit Goals & a Swimming Award #LittleLoves

What can I say about this week? Well with the clocks changing I have really felt the difference in not waking to bright skies and maybe that’s something to do with it being a much shorter week too – I’ve been so busy during the day and night and on that note, is it Easter yet? I’m writing this post early as Thursday evening will be spent packing our bags and the car before our trip to Whitby very early on Friday morning. I am really looking forward to spending 5 days with my boys. And what about last weekend, well that was a bit dreamy wasn’t it? Two whole days holding hands with Mr H without our gorgeous boy breaking us up as he wants in on the action. As much as he makes me smile when he does and as cute as it is it was just lovely to wander around, browse through shop windows, enjoy watching the world go by from a little coffee shop in Afflecks Palace.

And so grab a cuppa, an easter egg or maybe even a glass of wine for this week’s little loves…

This week is devoted to my gorgeous boy. I read his latest swimming report from his teacher and oh my goodness he is flying. We didn’t expect him to pass his level 6 so quickly after only passing level 5 3 months ago but apparently he’s storming through. It would appear to have upset another parent in his group as her little boy remains on level 5. I find this really sad and was quite taken aback when she challenged the teacher on why George was ahead of her boy. Thankfully it didn’t affect George hearing his award being questioned. I won’t lie, I enjoyed hearing his instructor comment on my little swimmers ability.

Billions is back on our screens for a third series. Definitely a must see, if you haven’t caught it before then I would definitely add it to your planner.

It has to be Jessie Ware right? It goes without saying that she was truly fantastic. I love The Apollo as a venue, so cosy and just perfect for a night with Jessie Ware. I love hearing an artist who can sing better live than on an album and oh my goodness did she do just that. I have also been listening to Justin Timberlake’s Say Something, I love this song so much. Definitely a body rocking and toe tapping song. One to add to my Spotify list for sure.

Mr H made the executive decision of where to eat last weekend, he never fails to impress. Breakfast is after all the most important meal of the day and so I give you our breakfast at Mackie Mayor on Saturday and Sugar Junction on Sunday. I could just eat that bacon barm right now, it was dripping in butter which definitely helped to soak up the alcohol from Friday’s adventures. We’ve only ever had cocktails and cake at Sugar Junction so it was a real treat to sample their breakfast.

There’s really only one outfit to share with you this week and that is my new favourite blazer and skirt. I just love how this outfit works so well together but also I am excited for wearing this blazer with my jeans and other bottoms. If ever there was an outfit made for me it was this combination for sure. I have updated the blog with a post all about my date weekend outfits – do pop over if you fancy a little snoop.

And lastly…

Last weekend it was all about Mr H and I, we had such a great weekend although we did miss our boy – this weekend couldn’t be more different but in a lovely way and I simply cannot wait. We will be cocooned in our little family bubble with only the end of our Easter break bringing the fun to an end. We are off to Whitby to stay in the Camping Pods we stayed in last year – we’re all so excited. Sausages cooked on the barbecue for breakfast, stomping around the cobbled streets (hopefully my ankle holds up) and toasting marshmallows on the campfire for supper. Let’s hope the weather forecast changes as its currently raining for the duration of our stay. Pray for me little loves crew, my hair dislikes the rain and leaves me looking something like Monica in the humidity.

I have added this post to Morgana’s #LittleLoves over on her blog Coffee, Work, Sleep, Repeat.

Well done to George with his swimming – that’s brilliant! My girls still aren’t very strong swimmers even though they’ve had private lessons and lessons with their school. My husband is really keen to watch Billions – it’s next on our list. I have to admit I’ve never even heard of Jessie Ware – I’ll have to look her up. Hope oyu had a lovely time away even if the weather was a bit wet – looking forward to seeing all the photos.

Well done George on his swimming that’s brilliant progress. But sad to hear the parent felt it appropriate to challenge it. I hope you had a lovely time away, I saw the camping pod on IG and it looked a beautiful spot x
