A trip to Manchester, Red Boots & Mother’s Day Assembly #LittleLoves

This week has been what some might say a bit strange. One minute we were celebrating and the next not so much. Last weekend began and ended with birthday celebrations for Mr H’s birthday and lets not forget two of George’s friends. We had a super day in Manchester on Sunday, a very boys day but I guess you could say that’s my future. A wife and mother to boys and therefore may not always get to do the girly things, even so it was just perfect. And then the weekend was over.

And then what feels like the worst happened. Just like every other week I went to a training session on Tuesday evening whereas this week I ended up in A&E via ambulance. For those that follow me over on Instagram will know that I have pretty much been knocked me off my feet since then and I am utterly miserable and getting tubbier by the day. I very nearly missed this week’s little loves post, if truth be told I have found it difficult to look past my accident which reminded me of why this round up exists. For this reason alone I must write a post. To remember moments like this when we visited my new favourite place to eat and drink in Manchester – Mackie Mayors…

And so, join me in this week’s little loves…

A letter and a card from my Georgeous. I’m so glad that I made it to the assembly, having to wobble in on crutches with all the children wondering exactly what was wrong meant that my poor boy got a little emotional and shy bless him. Thankfully he soon found his confidence and very proudly presented me with a few drawings, a letter and my most favourite card ever. This boy will forever have my heart – he’s been a huge help to me since hurting myself on Tuesday and I cannot wait to spend some time with him this weekend even if I can’t quite get very far.

Two of our favourite series are back on our planner. Designated Survivor – I am so glad about that. I’m only sad that I have to wait a week between episodes, I certainly do prefer binge watching a series. We are also watching The Tunnel, Vengeance – I love the relationship between the two main characters. Did you see the original series? It’s troubling but equally has me gripped.

Some great news that my blogging friend Heledd from Running in Lavender has become one of the Simpson Family Travel Ambassadors. Such a deserving winner and family and I cannot wait to see where there adventures take them this year.

My 2nd Wardrobe Edit – Summer Style which in part was our entry to the Mark Warner Ambassador programme as well as a little update in the series. My mini fashionista joined me for this video and oh my goodness was he just the cutest. I love his style, he made me chuckle a few times.

These boots were made for walking. I haven’t managed to wear these boots as much as I’d like but with Spring hopefully just around the corner I am full of hope that they will indeed be worn with a maxi dress and bare legs soon enough. Although I am sad to say that I don’t think I’ll be wearing them again for some time, since hurting my ankle I can imagine getting them in, manipulating my ankle is going to be a little tricky.

And lastly…

I had such high expectations and so many plans for this weekend but sadly the reality isn’t quite going to look as I had imagined. I’m sure we’ll figure it out. Mr H is off to Manchester on Saturday to have a boozy day with his friends and with not being able to drive or walk further than well two or three steps it looks like we have a day at home. And then there’s Sunday, I’m not really sure how that looks but as long as it involves a cup of tea and snuggles in bed on Sunday morning I will be a very happy mummy indeed.

I have added this post to Morgana’s #LittleLoves over on her blog Coffee, Work, Sleep, Repeat.

Feel so sorry for you as I know how frustrating it must be to not do the things you want to do. But stay snuggled up in that bed with plenty of cuddles from your boys. That place in Manchester looks one cool place to eat #littleloves x

Such a shame about your ankle, I can imagine how frustrated and fed up you must be feeling. I hope a lovely Mother’s Day with your gorgeous boy cheered you up – love the pretty things he made for his very special Mum xx

Oh KA, I feel for you with being so restricted while you rest up. I’m sure you still had a fabulous Mothers Day weekend being looked after by George and Si. Love the look of that venue in Manchester, I’m definitely choosing that place for my meeting next week! xx
