What better way to spend a Wednesday night than being serenaded by the Jersey Boys. Oh, what a night! A show for all ages, full of energy and music that leaves you toe tapping and full of joy. Think those big hits; Big Girls Don’t Cry, Bye Bye Baby as well as Sherry and lets not forget some of those big Frankie Valli tracks which left my mother-in-law smiling and reminiscing of years gone by. From the outset you are drawn into the story of the four main characters who led a colourful and somewhat troubled life – tales of love, laughter, drama, prison, money troubles, death and so much more.
From the staging to the acting, singing and costumes this is most definitely a show you need to see. A truly great performance from all involved both in their singing and acting, as a huge fan of the Jersey Boys and someone who watched the movie a few years ago it was quite moving to see it acted out in front of you. There was so much passion and commitment – portraying the singers and the story surrounding them in such intricate detail. And oh my goodness the singing, they are so talented.
From a twenty three year old, somewhere in between to a seventy three year old the verdict was unanimous – a show not to be missed.
The show is running at The Regent Theatre until Saturday, February 17. To book your tickets take a look at www.atgtickets.com/venues/regent-theatre/.
