Snow day, Dear Santa & Hot chocolate #littleloves

This is my favourite time of year. All the twinkling lights, the cosy Sunday afternoons drinking hot chocolate, winter walks all wrapped up in our winter woolies, the festivities. What’s not to love? I find myself falling in love with winter all over again each time December arrives. And no more so than when it snows, oh my goodness how lovely was it to wake to a blanket of snow? Whether it’s the build up to Christmas or the fact that over the weekend it snowed I really do feel all giddy at the moment, filled with so much excitement for our trip to Disneyland Paris and of course for Christmas Eve and the big day itself. For all the food, pyjama days and let’s not forget all the celebrations in between Christmas and the New Year arriving. Our little family have so much to celebrate around this time of year which I guess explains in some way why we all look forward to the time together. Family time really is the best time.

And so grab yourself a cup of merry cheer and join me in another rather festive little loves (normal business will resume on January 5th)…

Oh my goodness little loves crew my heart swelled with so much love for this little fella on Sunday afternoon. He wanted to write his letter without help, he wrote it phonetically and therefore had to read it to me as I couldn’t quite make out some of the words. Hopefully Santer doesn’t mind how his name was spelt, hilariously he managed to spell his toy request right! All the laughs. Have you ever seen anything as cute as a little one popping their letter into the postbox? Oh the excitement as we walked to the postbox – these are the moments I want to remember forever. Will my letter reach Santa in time, if he’ll reply and most of all will his wishes come true! I really wish I had taken a photo of the letter as boy did I feel emotional.

Not much if truth be told. Its been a busy old week for both Mr H and I – what with it being our last week before the Christmas break, preparations for Disneyland and all the little things in between. I am however off to watch George’s Nativity on Friday morning and Mr H is off to the afternoon session. Our last one as infant school parents. Our gorgeous boy has been suffering with stage fright a little lately which has taken us all by surprise, he really isn’t enjoying the crowds and if truth be told who would ey? 200 parents all staring at you as you act out your stage presence or say a few words. There were tears for Nanny at the dress rehearsal, I do hope he gets through it on Friday.

All the christmas songs – on the radio in the office, on my Spotify playlist in the car and lets not forget whilst we wrapped our gifts for Daddy on Sunday. George and I had a lovely day together on Sunday, a little unexpected treat as I was due to head to Manchester with friends. Sadly the snowed stopped that from happening but in all honesty I am so glad that I stayed back. George has never written and posted a letter to Santa before and that is exactly what we did. Oh the magic. I have also fell in love with the Ed Sheeran and Beyonce duet of Perfect – what a truly gorgeous collaboration.

We made hot chocolate with marshmallows and candy canes in our festive mugs. Very apt given that we had just watched Elf! All of the sugar in our house was consumed on Sunday. Mr H also made pulled pork which we ate with cranberry stuffing in crusty rolls, oh my goodness they were a taste sensation and the perfect treat for after our mammoth christmas shopping day on Saturday. I’m only sorry if didn’t take a little photo for you. We literally have Christmas all wrapped up now with the exception of adding all the pretty bows and name tags.

A whole lot of sequin love, I haven’t worn this top since I picked it up last Christmas but oh my goodness I do love how it sparkles in the light. And if you can’t wear sequins in December when can you? I may have picked up a new hat whilst we were doing a little Christmas shopping. Naughty me I know but it can’t be all about everyone else now can it? And it was only £4.99 from Primark so really just a small treat. I do love pink and grey together and even more so with a white and blue background.

George was very happy to be wrapped up when we ventured out to throw snowballs on Sunday, I just love this snood on him so much, super cosy. And what about that cardigan above, I do love Zara for boys at this time of year – and with going into the next size it doesn’t half make him look so grown up. My heart cannot cope with how big he is looking lately – George Archie please stop growing. He likes to tell people that he is nearly up to my boobs, all the heart eyes and embarrassment for that piece of information shared to the world on an almost daily basis.

And lastly…

This time next week we will be enjoying our last day at Disneyland Paris before making the journey home ready for the big day. I am so so excited for next week but also to see how George reacts when he finally realises where we are going but first I have my Christmas party on Friday night, the cinema on Saturday morning to watch Star Wars and then a day in London on Sunday before boarding the Eurostar on Monday. All of the eeks for the week ahead. Have a great week little loves crew.

I have added this post to Morgana’s #littleloves over on her blog Coffee, Work, Sleep, Repeat.
