Festive fun, Christmas decorations & another cosy knit #LittleLoves

Oh my goodness how cold has it been this week? I said it on Instagram and I’m going to say it here – winter has officially arrived. Despite the calendar saying not until December 21st I am calling it as November 27th. It is so chilly willy here, and it snowed on Saturday. It goes without saying that blankets are a necessary accessory these days and oh my goodness am I enjoying cosying up under one or three in the evenings. I just need a new candle and my evenings shall be complete.

I don’t know about you but I’m feeling all festive after this weekend, I didn’t expect to be so it has been a really nice surprise. We hadn’t planned on bringing a tree home on Saturday after visiting the farm but after picking out the one for our snug which is basically where we spend our evenings we simply couldn’t resist. And as the neighbours cannot see this room we thought we’d be under the radar, that was until I posted a picture on IG Stories (of course) and we were outed. Oops.

And so here are this week’s little loves, do you have a cuppa? And a blanket?…

Read…

I read an interesting post from Ginger Marketing on how Bloggers should approach companies or PR’s – I thought I’d share it with you as despite not agreeing with all the points Cheryl does share some really good tips on how to pitch and to remember to highlight your value add.

Watched…

So many things to share with you here. The snow falling as we woke on Saturday morning, it continued to fall as we picked out our Christmas trees which was rather magical indeed. The documentary and interview around the engagement of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Ooh they’re so blooming cute and I do love a wedding. The movie Elf amongst others, although this one was quite appropriate given that we are off to see it on Friday evening at The Lowry. And lastly the final edit of a rather exciting video.

Heard…

This week we have been listening to our Christmas playlist over on Spotify, in the car, at home and at the office. The countdown has begin little loves crew and I am not ashamed to admit it. Bring on the festivities.

Made…

There is only one thing I can share with you here this week – George and I have been featured in a Christmas advert with the lovely people over at Trentham Gardens. It all happened really quickly, with the first part shared on their Facebook page today (Thursday). Now for those of you that are regular readers will know that we spend many a day exploring the gardens, I freelance for their website and as locals who have enjoyed the gardens and village for more than 6 years it was so lovely when we started to work together in a professional capacity at the beginning of this year. And when they approached us to be apart of such a magical video I was really touched. And here it is…

Wore…

The cosiest combination I have in my wardrobe, well actually I lie – I may have purchased another cosy knit this week from H&M and I am so excited to wear it. But for now this was my outfit on Sunday, a midi dress layered with tights and the knit I featured in last week’s post. And so, let me tell you about the new knit, I don’t think I have ever owned as many white jumpers as I do today. I have been admiring a cashmere jumper on Zara for a few weeks however it was a HUGE investment piece – and then I saw a new arrival on the H&M website which despite not being cashmere is so similar and a fraction of the price. I couldn’t resist.

And lastly…

We are off to meet the big fella on Saturday which George is really excited about, this Santa is the real deal you know – one we have visited each year and it always leaves us feeling so festive. And then we are finishing off the Christmas decorations. With two more trees to go and a house to fill with the smell of pine needles and mulled wine I am really looking forward to our little family tradition of popping on the festive songs and dancing around the Christmas tree.

I have added this post to Morgana’s #LittleLoves over on her blog Coffee, Work, Sleep, Repeat.

Christmas does seem to have arrived a little earlier this year it’s been hard to wait until Dec 1st to get the music on and start a few festive treats. It’s not been so cold down south and I’m jealous of those who had snow. I like the pastels and creams of your knitwear. Congratulations on your starring performance in the Christmas ad , what a lovely thing to keep and be reminded of George at this age forever. Enjoy your weekend it sounds like it’s going to be very special and festive.

How lovely to choose your tree in the snow! We even got a bit of snow down on the south coast on Thursday, I couldn’t believe it was actually snowing – hadn’t seen any for a few years thanks to living abroad. That advert is brilliant. I couldn’t think of anyone better to advertise Trentham than you and your gorgeous George. You convinced me long ago I need to visit if I’m ever up your way. Hope you have a great week x
