We escaped to the seaside last weekend, a much needed couple of days at our favourite apartments in Lytham St Anne’s. We were all in need of some rest and time together as a family. Spending time together, cocooned in our little family bubble really is the best time but there is something about being at the beach that soothes the soul. The weather man had promised me a glorious sunrise and he didn’t disappoint, when I say breath-taking those words don’t quite express how beautiful it was to watch the sunrise on that morning.
The whole weekend was building up to the sunrise on Sunday morning. After a tough week I was really looking forward to walking out through the sand dunes and onto the beach. The boys stayed behind and set the breakfast going whilst I enjoyed a little fresh sea air all to myself. The beach was deserted, my coffee was hot and the camera was charged. I’ve noticed lately that when the morning is as clear as it was on this day that the sunrise seems to go on for so long. I took so many photos, I couldn’t quite believe the colours which were filling the sky, I even felt inspired to take a little sunrise selfie.
I have added this post to Darren’s #MySundayPhoto over on his blog Photalife.
