For the first time in a little while now I have found myself really looking forward to the arrival of Friday and better still the weekend. It has been a long week here, maybe with the return of routine for George at School or actually I think it’s the darker evenings – it always takes me a little while to adjust to winter and I feel like I am very much in that transition stage. That said we all enjoyed wrapping up at the weekend and heading out for a winter walk complete with hot chocolate. And oh my gosh I have seen some beautiful sunrises on my way to the office most mornings this week, blues and pinks – two of my favourite colours.

And so, grab a cuppa and enjoy this week’s little loves post…

Read…

This month’s Red Mag fell through my door on Saturday and I couldn’t help but steal a little time to read it whilst the boys were away at the football. It’s the Christmas edition which always leaves me feeling so excited for the season where you are allowed to wear all the sparkles. It actually inspired me to order a little sparkly tee from Topshop which I cannot wait to wear under a V-neck knit – I just need to persuade Mr H to let buy the sweater!

I also stumbled across Zoe from Mama Geek sharing her WordPress plugins on a dedicated page on her blog. A great resource for anyone with a WordPress blog and like me isn’t very techy.

Watched…

I couldn’t write this week’s post without mentioning Our Girl, such a traumatic end to the series. If you haven’t watched the last two series then I would search for it and press save. We also watched Sully, for those that don’t know it’s a true story of the pilot who landed a plane in the Hudson River with all 155 passengers and crew surviving. This is the 2nd time we have watched it now and I found it equally as emotional.

Heard..

Laughter as the children played together on Friday when George and I went over to visit Jenny and her littles. Silence as we found the sun loungers at Trentham Gardens on Sunday, it was the most beautiful of weather days and in all honesty just what we all needed. We wandered around the Halloween Trail and ended our journey at the wildflower meadow looking out onto the lake. It was breathtakingly beautiful. And lastly sadness as the boy went back to School on Tuesday, for the first time in forever he was sad to be heading back into class.

Made…

Jamie Oliver’s Crispy Squid & Smashed Avocado from his 5 Ingredients book. A little treat for us all after our walk on Sunday – this has to be my favourite recipe so far. Oh my goodness so tasty and with a splash of hot chilli sauce it was the perfect snacky dish. Even George enjoyed the crispy squid and went in for a second helping.

Wore…

I have so much to share with you this week. From Charlotte Tilbury make-up which looks and feels like a luxury product to my obsession with winter coats and accessories. How lucky I am to have received some make-up and treats this week.

I have found it hard over the years to find an under eye concealer that lasts as well as a foundation that actually carries me through the day with full coverage. Without a shadow of a doubt I can highly recommend this make-up brand – the products are so luxurious but the quality is even more impressive. I am really impressed with this Magic Foundation, as well as the combined eye cream and concealer pencil.

And lets not forget the grey funnel coat from Laura Ashley, you can read all about my favourite winter warmers over on their blog here. I also managed to give my mustard boyfriend coat a little outing too and of course the red boots from Zara. A weekend of outfits I have been looking forward to wearing. I picked up a couple of new pieces fromTopshop this week, I’m still in love with wearing dresses and chunky boots despite the colder snap. Hopefully I’ll get to wear it this weekend as the print and fabric really does make me smile.

And lastly…

We have a really busy weekend ahead which I am sure will feel so strange as the last three have been pretty relaxed. We are off to Splash Landings Waterpark on Saturday and then into Alton Towers to enjoy a few rides before we hang around for the Fireworks display. It has been a couple of years since we have watched a display but with having our annual Merlin Passes we couldn’t resist planning a little trip over. Hopefully the weather man is kind to us. Have a great weekend #littleloves crew.

I have added this post to Morgana’s #LittleLoves over on her blog Coffee, Work, Sleep, Repeat.

  5. Thanks for sharing Mama Geek’s post about WordPress plugins, super useful and I’ll definitely be making use of the Jetpack Markdown Addon. Every time I read #LittleLoves posts, I’m reminded of podcasts I need to listen to and books to read, but I’m going to prioritise magazine reading -if only for a short time. I think it’s needed! Have a lovely week x

    • You are so welcome Donna, I am glad it helped. I do love to read a magazine, I just have to remember to go back and read it all again x

  6. What an absolutely gorgeous and fit to bursting Little Loves Kerri Ann!!
I love the sound of the Charlotte Tilbury make up. I’ve tried so many under eye concealers that don’t even last the morning, so I’ll be adding that make up to my Christmas list for sure.
Love the look and sound of the squid and avocado, my kind of food for sure. Yum!
Hope you’ve had a good week this week too xx

    • Aww thank you Morgana, I did really enjoy pulling last weeks post together so I am really glad that you think so. The squid is to die for and I cannot wait to eat it again. I can highly recommend the under eye concealer – it really is super. x x
