This week, hasn’t it zoomed by? The countdown to our big Christmas trip is officially on now and in all honesty it is all I  have thought about all week. I do love the planning stages. On another note – what a great week for our little family. The school run in all its autumn loveliness, a day out at Scarefest, a Spa day for me, a super-duper parents evening for our gorgeous boy and lovely words from the Head Teacher really has made me smile. With the exception of being stuck on the skyride at Alton Towers we had a great day, oh my goodness the horror of hanging for 31 minutes really was just that. Thankfully the team looked after us as we finally made it off, that said I won’t be taking one again. Never.

The promise of sunshine this weekend is filling me with so much joy. Oh how I love autumn when the weather is bright and no rain in sight. I am looking forward to getting out with my boys, spending some time together walking around Trentham Gardens with a football, a hot chocolate in one hand and my boys in the other. But first grab a cuppa and join me in this week’s little loves…

Read…

Does the afternoon tea menu count at the Midland Hotel? I’ve written a little post about my visit last weekend if you’d like to have a little read. Such a great afternoon, the food, the company and lets not forget the facial. Who knew that beetroot and goats cheese sandwiches would be a taste sensation! I haven’t really found too much time to read this week, although I did read through the details of our Disney trip at Christmas. Eek Mr H and I are both getting so excited. Has anyone been on the Eurostar and can tell me any details of the trip they don’t tell you on the website?

Watched…

We binge watched Dr Foster and oh my goodness wasn’t the second series so incredibly dark? Really difficult to watch. There were so many scenes that upset me, two really stood out – but I won’t say what they are in case you are late to the Dr Foster party like us. I will say, the Dad really was vindictive right until the end wasn’t he? We also watched the opening episode of the new series of Our Girl. I have high hopes for this series – although a little disappointed with this episode I do love Michelle Keegan and of course the two main actors in the show. Ssshhh don’t tell Mr H.

Heard…

I have really enjoyed listening to some dance tracks recently. Generally the ones that are a little more chilled out in their style. I have loved listening to Chris Malinchak – So Good To Me this week.

Made…

We picked up the new Jamie Oliver 5 Ingredients book – I think it might be his best book yet. We Mr H has made some really tasty dishes and as the book says they are quick and easy. His Ginger Shakin’ Beef is so good. If you haven’t picked up the book yet then The happy foodie site hosts some great ones from many different authors.

Wore…

I have a few new things to share with you this week. I finally found an opportunity to wear my red boots from Zara and oh my goodness I do love them so much. I just need to find other things to wear them with – I’ve had a black & white polka dot dress from a new site Glamorous which I stumbled across that should go well. I couldn’t resist popping on this relaxed fit boyfriend blazer, I adore this Prince Charles print. I stumbled cross this on the Primark Insta page and ran straight in to find it. I highly recommend sizing up, I went for the size14 as anything smaller felt too fitted. And lastly my mustard coat from New Look or some call it ochre. I love the colour so much and seriously may have an obsession with it.

And lastly…

I haven’t mentioned this for a while and as there is a little development I thought I would. Do you join in with #MyFamilyAdventures over on Insta? I would love you to share your family adventures with me – whether a day out, a walk in the park or big trip. I adore scrolling through these little squares and gaining inspiration from your days out. And so, the new bit is that the lovely Laura from Little Ladies Big World will be joining me as co-host this month. We’re going to shout about the community more, share more of our favourites each month and generally give the monthly link up a little boost. So if you fancy joining in on Insta just tag #MyFamilyAdventures and if you fancy joining in the monthly link up it goes live on the last Sunday of a month which is Sunday 29th October.

I have added this post to Morgana’s #LittleLoves over on her blog Coffee, Work, Sleep, Repeat.
