Last weekend was all sorts of lovely. Cocooned in our little family bubble for two whole days. A lovely blend of relaxed time together, heading our for a family walk with our furry baby, a little home shopping, watching movies, eating out at a new favourite café and lets not forget taking photos of pretty things. All weekend I was feeling so much better after having such a dreadful cough and cold and then on Tuesday it came back with a vengeance and really knocked me off my feet on Wednesday. I only wish I could have taken a couple of days to get well as I fear by not resting it will be never ending.

And so, grab a cuppa and join me in this week’s little loves…

Read…

The cake menu at a new café in town. Does that count? We stumbled across the Rebel Rooms as we enjoyed a weekend of family time. Such a great little find – oh my goodness, the décor, the cheese toasties, the rainbow cake and they are family and dog friendly which I love. I cannot wait to head back with George during half term.

Watched…

Taskmaster – a series Mr H has stumbled across. There are seven comedians who together form a team who complete random tasks. Its easy watching and something that leaves you laughing. The hosts really are quite funny.

Heard…

Jenny Stein’s latest podcast featuring one of my favourite photographers and video maker – Xanthe Berkeley. If you haven’t come across Xanthe before do have a little listen and over on the link you’ll see some of her short films which are so moving. I just love how she captures family life. She inspired me to create our own monthly films and whilst they are so far away from the magic that she creates I hope that by next year I will be able to capture our year in a film, our summer and special occasions. I have our Christmas celebrations to capture before then which really does excite me. I have also signed up to Jenny’s daily photo project which kicks in on Wednesday for one week. We all need a little project every now and again.

Made…

Lots of cups of tea and a cosy blanket nest, they are the only cure to being ill aren’t they? An appointment to get my nails done – does that count? I am ready to embrace the autumn shades, I am thinking of a bright red. We have also made a booking to watch Elf at the Lowry in Manchester at Christmas time. It is without doubt the boys favourite Christmas movie. Eek how blooming exciting.

Wore…

I am renaming my pink coat of dreams a teddy coat because lets face it is so cosy and so soft. And when your six year old says its like cuddling a teddy bear I am hoping he means the material and not that I have put on a few pounds. Dresses over jeans for autumn, I love this trend and it is one I return to each year. I wasn’t feeling great on Tuesday so after a long day at the office I took myself off to Topshop and picked up a couple of treats. I’ll share them next week hopefully.

And lastly…

I have my fingers and toes crossed that I feel a little better by Saturday morning as we have promised to take our gorgeous boy to the Manchester Museum on Saturday, he is particularly interested to see the dinosaurs. We’re also off into the Northern Quarter for food and to top it off we’re travelling on the train to make it one big adventure. The boy is beyond excited so I would hate to have to stay behind. Here’s hoping for another weekend wrapped up in our little family bubble.

I have added this post to Morgana’s #LittleLoves over on her blog Coffee, Work, Sleep, Repeat.

  1. Hi Kerri-Ann,

I’m so glad you enjoyed the podcast with Xanthe. I did too! It’s inspired me to take more videos – even if I can’t edit them at the moment.
And, I am looking forward to doing the Week of Daily Photos Project with you next week. YAY!

    Jenny

    • Yes I think the videos are such an important part of our memory book although I find it really easy to forget to capture them 🙁

  2. Oh I am sorry to read that you’re poorly. I really hope you’re well enough for your Manchester trip! We really should organise a little Manchester meet up soon.
I love Xanthe, so I’m off to have a listen to that podcast. Thanks for the recommendation xx

    • Thanks for the well wishes, gradually seem to be getting much better. Oh yes absolutely, just say when my love x

  3. I am so sorry to hear you are not well hunny, hope you are on the mend quickly for your grand adventure out with your boys. Sounds so lovely. It’s supposed to rain here all weekend so good thing we rescheduled our playdate. Can’t wait to catch up and see you though. Lovely snaps of your beautiful week. I love Xanthe she is so inspiring. #littleloves

  4. That cafe looks gorgeous – as does the cake! I hadn’t heard of that podcast before, so have added it to my ever-expanding list of those I need to listen to. Hope you’re on the mend and had a great weekend x

    • It was a lovely little spot. I have an endless list of podcasts to listen to, I found it easier to listen to them when I commuted x

  5. Sorry you’ve been feeling so unwell Kerri-Ann, what a shame. I had that awful cold/cough for about 2 weeks, it was horrible. I do hope you’re feeling better for this weekend coming. That cafe looks like a gorgeous find, so quirky and unusual. We’ve got a new one in our town where you can take dogs too and I love it! xx
