Me and Mine Family Portrait Project – August

Oh August, what a delight you were. From the beginning to the end you were like Eton mess on a summers day and a cosy blanket in winter. Perfect in every way – from the long lie ins, lazy beach days, all the sangria and sun kissed skin to exploring a amphitheatre to watching dolphins swim in the say. There is nothing quite like escaping the routine of work, school and everything in between to re charge the batteries, reconnect as a family and come back clear in your mind of where we all want to be.

This month’s photos were taken in Spain at one of our favourite beaches – San Javier. So peaceful and full of so much character, a beautiful coastal town where we ate paella on the beach as the water crashed against the sand a few feet away. I managed to grab a few photo’s with my camera balance on my beach bag and then went back on our last night to catch the sunset and I am so glad that we did.

And so here are a few things we have been loving in August…

Mr H has been loving… passing his exam (huge hooray and the perfect start to our holiday), fun at the waterpark, happy hour drinking beer and mojito’s, beach fun with George, lazy days and making plans for visiting DisneyLandParis at Christmas (all of the eeks).

George has been loving… eating a takeaway pizza on the beach, playing football every day, sliding down the black hole at the waterpark, taking a boat out to sea and diving in (I definitely didn’t like part) and eating chocolate cake 12 days out of 14, the other 2 he ate crepes with Nutella.

And lastly I have been loving… watching the sunrise with a cup of coffee whilst the boys lay in, relaxed beach days, exploring Alicante and Cartagena, making my third short film of our little family holiday and watching the sunset on our last night of the holiday.

And a few others that I love so much. I just had to share them with you even though they aren’t quite the three of us, with the exception of one…

With being away until the beginning of September I am a little late in putting this post together so unlike most months I already know how the next few weekends are going to look. September is a really busy month for our little family, or should I say for Mr H and I. We have two weddings which wipe out two weekends, and ones where no children are allowed so the time we do spend together as a family will be precious. Have a great September.

I have added this post to Lucy’s #MeandMineProject over on her blog Dear Beautiful.
