I have been searching for bluebell woods near to where we live for week’s now and thankfully on the recommendation of a friend we found just that. A gorgeous display of bluebells, completely unspoilt in an area unknown to most. How could we have missed this spot and literally a few minutes from where we live – and it goes by the name of Parrot’s Drumble, how fantastic is that?

It’s a gorgeous space, perfect for a little adventure and despite my boys not seeming to keen we were all blown away by how beautiful it was. Hidden a few minutes into the woods you couldn’t help but smile when the trees parted to the most breath taking of displays of blue and green. And the smell, intoxicating in a good way and if it hadn’t rained the night before I think a picnic would have been in order. I can only imagine how more beautiful it would have been in April before it had been discovered by some of the locals. A visit next year is already in the diary, if only they lasted a little longer.

I have added this post to Darren’s #MySundayPhoto over on his blog Photalife. I should also say that with the help of Darren’s post Taking Photos of Bluebells I think I managed to capture them quite well, although another visit on my own might just seal the deal.

  1. Stunning photos as always lovely. When we were driving away from Trentham the other week we passed a forest area and saw loads – they’ve been in abundance this year although Hampshire’s have practically disappeared now which is a little sad #MySundayPhoto
