“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth” – Kahlil Gibran. The original quote used to describe this gorgeous photography project. For me it is about capturing childhood, specifically through our gorgeous boys eyes. Whether a portrait of him and his toothless smile, capturing a moment in time for the memory bank or quite simply watching him enjoy his childhood.

As we take those first few steps into April I can’t help but look at all the moments I have captured this year since joining in with this photo project. They make me smile so much, they make my heart ache as it becomes more apparent as each week passes just how quickly he is growing up. I am so proud of him – I have a caring, sweet little boy who really does love life, he makes the most of every day and oh my goodness he fills my mummy heart with so much love.

I love how a photo can say a thousand words. Build a picture, tell a story, evoke an emotion. For me these photos remind me of just how much our gorgeous boy is growing up, I love that his curls are back, his toothless grin, his laugh as he chased the ducks and how he always takes a ball with him wherever we go. On the 2107th day of his life, of our life as mummy and daddy we packed a picnic and followed the leader, that’s Lil G if you were unsure. He led us to his favourite spot, we shook the branches of the blossom tree (ssshhh don’t tell on us), we kicked a ball, we fed the ducks and talked about his birthday party plans and ate marmite sandwiches.

Oh happy day, it certainly was a Sunday well spent which so far is bringing a week of content.

I have added this post to Donna’s #LivingArrows over on her blog What The Redhead Said.

  1. Beautiful photos that always make me long to revisit Trentham Gardens again. I need to visit my friend soon so I have an excuse to go back! I adore that title by the way x #LivingArrows

  2. He looks so happy and that really is a beautiful place for a picnic. I’m so glad that you’re enjoying recording these moments – it’s what Living Arrows is all about and I love having the photos to look back on x
