Our little family Spring getaway to St Anne’s Beach Apartments

The beach is the best place to go when you need to escape life as you know it. And what better way to celebrate a birthday than at the lovely St Anne’s Beach Apartments. A little luxury for the adults and of course the fun of the seaside for our five year old. It was all planned as a surprise and so at the beginning of March I whisked them both off on a little weekend break, in part to celebrate Mr H’s birthday but also to make up for not being able to take a little break together during the February half term. Off we went on an adventure, and what better way to celebrate a birthday than at the seaside.

At the beginning of the year we all made our promises to each other and one of those was to enjoy more adventures together as a family. This was our first real break away of 2017 and so I wanted to make it a special one. We were so lucky with the weather, the sun shone for the whole time we were there which only added to the magic. You can see more of our adventures and that ever so dreamy blue sky in this post here; Together is a wonderful place to be – as for now this little round up is going to focus on the truly gorgeous apartments we stayed in…

This is the second time we have stayed at these beautiful apartments, the owners Stuart & Zoe go more than the extra mile to ensure you have the perfect stay. Which is part of the reason we’ll continue to visit, and recommend. They make you feel so welcome, so special and of course the apartment doesn’t disappoint. Down to the little things left for you – milk, bread, a little sweet treat to celebrate Mr H’s birthday to the cosy blankets perfect for snuggling under on a lazy afternoon and the local visit and places to eat guide. Heavenly.

Its the luxury feel of the place that takes my breath away, and the space – you really do feel like you are in the comfort of your own home, apart from the fact that they look nothing like our home – its the comfort and homely feel that makes me smile. Other than the contents of your wardrobe everything has been thought of so really its quite straight forward, pack your bags!

I love the addition of the where to go sign in the entrance since our last visit. Just another example of the detail Stuart & Zoe have gone to. If you are ever wondering what to do when visiting St Anne’s and Lytham, well look no further than this list. We ticked them all off on our little stay. All within walking distance of the apartment too, perhaps with the exception of Lytham Town that is.

This list got me thinking, there are so many little things we loved about our stay – I thought it would be a nice idea to share with you what we love about St Anne’s and Lytham and of course these gorgeous apartments and their accompanying beach huts. And so here goes…

For me its the location and the views that come with it. Whether it’s waking up to the gorgeous bay window, or watching the sunset and of course the fact that the beach is just a few yards away has to be the most perfect of ways to spend a weekend. So tranquil, so beautiful and just what I needed. That feeling of taking a morning beach walk as the sun rises just makes me smile.

And lets not forget our little stomp around Lytham. The town is so beautiful, the buildings, the architecture. We walked around the cobbled streets followed by brunch at Lytham Kitchen -we enjoyed eggy bread, bacon and eggs smothered in maple syrup – wow, the best breakfast ever.

For Lil G it was the TV in his bedroom and eating his breakfast in bed whilst watching the TV of course, followed very quickly by the TV in his bathroom, running through the sand dunes and then his little beach hut. Apparently if we save our pennies for a few weeks we’ll be able to buy our own, can you imagine? Bless his little heart, he really does get attached to our little adventures. Making memories is what its all about after all.

Mr H loved beach walks, eating bacon butties in our beach hut, Lytham Green and its windmill and eating breakfast in Lytham town. Let’s not forget the Jetty and how mysterious it is. We woke on Sunday morning to the most beautiful of sunrises and so we popped on our boots and headed out for a little walk along the beach. We opened up our beach hut and watched the world go by for a few hours. I love that the beach huts are like a miniature version of the apartments, with tea, coffee, cosy blankets and deck chairs.

I hope you have enjoyed our little tour around the St Anne’s Beach Apartments and of course the gorgeous coastal towns of St Anne’s and Lytham. We miss you. Be back soon. For now I am going to hold on to the feeling of freedom, oh to live by the seaside. Certainly feels like a different way of living and one our little family has fallen in love with.

I have added this post to Colette’s #TriedTested over on her blog ‘We’re going on an adventure’ .

You know I love Lytham so this post is right up my street. I really must hire out a beach hut for the day in the summer holidays, they really are beautiful. I love the apartments too but don’t think I could justify staying in one for a holiday when we only live 20 minutes away! boo xx
