Wow, is it really March. I’ve said this a couple of times this week but blimey how fast has February whizzed by? February was a great month – a month filled with so much love, days out and lets not forget our gorgeous boy losing his first tooth, he’s toothless and couldn’t have been more excited. He is one step closer to being a big boy and one step further away from being my baby, which for some reason seems to make him chuckle. I’ve updated the blog with our me and mine project photos if you fancy a little snoop in to our February.

After the really long week in the office last week it has been lovely to take things a little slower this week. My one day with George was absoloutely blooming lovely, apart from one or two hiccups we had the most loveliest of days filled with a couple of magic moments that will remain in my mummy heart for weeks, months and years to come I am sure.

And so, here are this week’s little loves…

Read…

New books for George thanks to the lovely people over at MillyandFlynn. We have been taking part in the #10minsbookclub challenge as part of the #WorldBookDay celebrations. It was such a lovely little campaign to work on, encouraging 10 minutes of reading time together each day, its something we do religiously each day as we all love books – its lovely to see a new book sparking a little imaginative play and excitement in his voice as he read it out loud.

Watched…

I am so late to the table on this one. After being pushed into it by my work colleagues we finally watched 50 Shades of Grey and 50 Shades Darker. Oh my goodness, I am in love. With the storyline, the characters (he’s so freaking handsome), the music, the romance. I was really surprised, I didn’t expect to love it so much, I actually thought they were both a really beautiful love story. Yes I know its a little kinky in parts, some might say a lot but honestly if you haven’t indulged in a little Jamie Dornan then I would highly recommend that you do!

Heard…

It had to be the music from the movies above, my favourite was I don’t wanna live forever by Zayn and Taylor Swift. The song is from 50 Shades Darker and is played during the boat scene. Such a beautiful song. Have you heard it?

Made…

A slight exaggeration, we didn’t make the whole outfit but we did make the walking stick and golden ticket. Our gorgeous boy is reading Charlie and the Chocolate Factory at bedtimes and so it was no surprise when he asked if he could be Mr Willy Wonka himself.  And if you look closely you can see the missing tooth! Oh my heart.

Wore…

Cosy knits, maxi dresses, new jewellery and a huge smile on my face at the end of our mummy and son day on Friday. I have said it many times over the last few months but I am obsessed with cosy knits and skirts or dresses. I just love how easy, floaty and feminine they are and of course with a knit you are sure to be all cosy.

And lastly…

It is Mr H’s birthday weekend and we are off to the gorgeous St Anne’s Beach Apartments for a long weekend. We’re all looking forward to escaping to the seaside- it really is our little family’s happy place. Hopefully it doesn’t rain the whole time we are there. I’ll be writing up a full review of our stay as we are lucky to be collaborating with Stuart & Zoe again this year, and if you’re over on IG stories I’ll be sharing our weekend over on there also.

Ooh and before I forget, I am taking over the Laura Ashley Instagram account this weekend too. Sharing photos of our home and fashion bits from Laura Ashley. I’m a little nervous about it, will people like the photos? Obviously it is all scheduled (or is that letting you into a little secret), it isn’t live however it was live the weekend I staged all the photos so if you fancy following a long I would really appreciate any love, likes and comments on the images. The first image goes live Friday evening and then you’ll find me posting throughout Saturday and Sunday.

I have added this post to Morgana’s #LittleLoves post over on her blog Coffee Work Sleep Repeat.

  1. Lil G looked amazing as Willy Wonka, and his lost tooth makes him look even more cuter. I have not watched the new 50 Shades film yet but I quite enjoyed the first one. Have a wonderful break in Lytham and looking forward to your pictures of the beach huts. We love Lytham too, it’s such a calming place isn’t it x

  2. Your little Willy Wonka looks fab, we also had World book day this week it’s great to see all the pictures of the kids dressed up. I also love 50 shades of grey but have yet to watch the new fifty shades darker but can’t wait to see it sounds like you enjoyed it.
We are having a trip to the seaside this weekend and have to agree there is something special about being at the seaside. Have a great time #Littleloves

  3. I can’t quite believe it is March either! It sounds like you’ve had a lovely week! I’ve been enjoying all the pictures that have been shared surrounding World Book Day, and I must say George’s is one of my favourites! I also love the concept behind the campaign running alongside World Book Day – it is so important to take the time to sit and read with our little ones.

I hope you have a lovely weekend!

  4. Oh I haven’t heard the new Taylor song – I loved the music from the first 50 shades film (I’ve not seen the second one yet). I really enjoyed world book day this year – George looks fab! Have a great weekend #littleloves

Love love Lil G outfit for world book day you can’t get better than that it suits him so perfectly. We are the same. I am a huge bookwork and so are the kids. We read for fun and we read every night for bedtime and all in between. lol Hope you have had a lovely weekend #littleloves

  7. I love Lil H’s World Book Day outfit, you are very organised. The morning before I pulled out the costumes we already had and then routed through O’s books to find a match. He ended up as Town Mouse from Town Mouse, Country Mouse. He was happy enough and he did make a very cute mouse. xxx
