Me and Mine – A Family Portrait Project February

As the end of February approaches I can’t help but feel that this month has whizzed by in a flash. I’m sure that’s something I’ll say again very soon but truly it has. February has been rather lovely indeed. We’ve enjoyed so many gorgeous little days out, sunshine filled days, precious family days, time with friends and one or two milestones which have left me feeling so emotional. I’ve been so lucky to enjoy some mummy and son time during half term which always leaves me feeling thankful for our gorgeous little boy, who is growing up at a rapid pace just lately, so I’ll ask again – does anyone have a time machine?

Getting my boys on camera has been a bit of a challenge this month. The cheeky little monkeys have certainly tested my skills this month, neither were playing ball on the one occasion where it wasn’t rainy, cloudy or filled with lots of passers by. I had the scene planned and then we bumped into friends which completed distracted them and of course they were both a little embarrassed to pose so I thought better of it. As we left the gardens I managed to grab a few photos of us from behind which make our #MeandMine photos for the month.

What I love about these photo’s is that it reminds me of that one day when it was warm enough to wear a skirt without tights, when finally there were no hats, winter coats and scarfs – well apart from Mr H as he was feeling a little delicate on this day. I blame that on the cocktails from our date day the day before, not that he’d agree! And so, I thought it would be nice to round up February with a few things that we have loved this month…

Mr H has been loving going to Wembley to watch a big football game, date day in Manchester eating good food and drinking far too much. He has also enjoyed our family days out visiting new places, him and George really do enjoy reading a map and guiding us on a new adventure.

George has enjoyed sun filled days running around the woods collecting sticks and squelching in the mud. Lots of new adventures, he particularly loved feeding the baby lambs. He also enjoyed making Valentines day a date we’ll now celebrate as a family where we’ll make cards for each other and eat pepperoni pizza. And lets not forget losing his first tooth!

I have enjoyed some precious mummy and son days, as well as some much needed down time as a family, pyjama days watching movies, playing games and drinking hot chocolate. Lets not forget spring blooms, blue skies and that feeling of the sunshine on my back.

And that’s February for our little family. Already I am really looking forward to March, we are off to the beach the first weekend in the month to celebrate Mr H’s birthday which is so exciting, he’s usually one to celebrate with friends on a night out so it feels lovely to share it as a family. We are all looking forward to a little break together, eating fish & chips in our beach hut and hopefully seeing both a sunrise and sunset on the beach. I hope you all have a wonderful month.

I am adding this post to Lucy’s #MeandMineProject over on her blog Dear Beautiful.

Love these family snaps KA. It’s nice to see a different take on it from the usual family photo of everyone facing the camera smiling – whether it was planned or intentional doesn’t matter! I can never get my family in one photo so I’m in awe of you and everyone else that manages it each month! xx

It has been lovely seeing your photos this month, how funny that they didn’t want to play ball when it came to these shots but I think they are lovely x #meandmineproject

As always you guys take the cutest family shots – not cheesy or false, they’re all beautifully shot and relaxed. I love your style KA!!

I’m not sure we’ve had skirt weather yet down here, roll on Spring I want to ditch the winter coats now and get out my Spring wardrobe. xx

Aaah these are lovely KA — weirdly I was looking at that Zara jacket for the boys!! Great minds 🙂 Considering the boys didn’t want to oblige with a photo, you’ve managed to get some great shots!! Although I often think that those are the best kind 🙂

I am so pleased that Spring is finally making an appearance! I feel so much happier when the sun shines. Glad to hear you had a good month. You have inspired me to try to arrange a date night for Chris and I, we hardly ever have an evening to ourselves xxx

Gorgeous pics and I love the last one with you and Lil G. I find it difficult to get my boys to stay still long enough to get a decent photo, especially G, he’s always on the move! xx
