#MySundayPhoto - life as our little family

The weather last weekend wiped out our plans so when I checked the weather report on Friday afternoon and saw what was forecast I was so excited. There was a blue sky and sunshine on the map. Sadly when we woke on Saturday morning there was no sunshine and most definitely not an inch of blue sky in sight. But there was a beautiful mist spreading as far as the eye could see and in a bid not to disappoint a little boy, we packed our wellie boots and a picnic and headed out to Cannock Chase for a little adventure..

What a beautiful day. Who said you need a blue sky to have an adventure. We enjoyed hot chocolate and some great conversation from the little fella, we had such a wonderful time wandering around the woods, building a den, jumping logs and hunting for bugs. Oh and lets not forget collecting sticks. I just love the contrast in colours and how tall the trees are against our gorgeous boy.

I’m adding this post to Darren’s #MySundayPhoto over at Photalife and Coombe Mills Country Kids. Do pop over for a snoop.

  1. It looks beautiful here. I love the tall trees and your little lad in his red coat that contrasts so well and looks so little among the trees. So long as it isn’t pouring it’s still good to get out and enjoy a little family time in the wilds. What a super collection of sticks on the ground too, you’d be spoiled for choice on which to carry! We did the same heading out today, it rained in the car and we were about to change our plans, thankfully we didn’t as the rest of the day got brighter and brighter.

Thank you for sharing with me on #CountryKids

    • Sounds perfect Fiona, we always try to get out and I am so glad that we did on Saturday. Lil G chose wisely with his sticks and soon had a big enough collection to start building a den!

    • You’re so right although I was a little disappointed at first, I blame that on the weatherman as the surroundings did not disappoint x
